Having opened our doors on Manor Farm in 1992, we feel part of the landscape in Tongham. But that doesn’t stop us thinking differently.

That’s because we believe beer is best brewed locally. That way, it’s better for our consumers, the local community and the environment.

Surrey was once the pre-eminent hop growing region of England, with local Farnham White Bine hops commanding a 30% premium. Sadly over the decades, the industry declined. After several disastrous harvests, the many hop gardens were grubbed up. Farnham owes much of its wealth to hops and you can still see reminders in local names such as the Hop Blossom pub.

Our revival hop garden spans 8½ acres. Not large by commercial hop growing standards, but when fully mature, the garden will provide over 50% of our annual hop needs.

EVERY GOOD BREWERY SHOULD HAVE A TAP ROOM

What better place to enjoy a pint than at a brewery? We’ve converted the hop kiln, which once used to dry the locally grown hops, into the new Hogs Back Tap. There’s no need to book, but feel free to reserve a space if you prefer.

VENUE HIRE

Why not reserve your place at the Brewery Tap? There are tables and benches in the Tap Room, Hangar, Beer Garden and Marquee. Our new booking system is live and will let you choose where you would like to sit and the start/finish time of your booking.

Please note our Beer Garden is open to the elements and has no cover. If the weather is unsuitable for outdoor seating you are more than welcome to try and find a seat inside but we cannot guarantee you space against other bookings, events and walk-ins.
