SEP is open to any Surrey-based or covering professional event supplier or venue.

However, to ensure the quality of our brand, protect our members and your business, you will be required to pass a membership process and adhere to our membership terms and conditions.

To join our collaborative community you simply have to be:

  • Experienced and professional in your chosen area of business,
  • Supply annually relevant PL insurance and industry qualification documentation
  • Potentially two industry references, if not known to us or one of our members

What's on offer

Membership is based around our regular networking events, but has so much more on offer, as detailed below.

Proactive marketing of your business

  • At our meetings we offer MEETING SHOWCASES, each members meeting consists of showcases from caterers, drink suppliers, entertainment, entertainers, production and general support services
  • Through our consumer SOCIAL MEDIA platforms (Facebook, TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn) we rotate and share our members & details, new services/equipment and special offers.
  • We also offer a MEMBERS ONLY FACEBOOK group, where members can ask questions or seek recommendations on services their clients may be after.
  • On our WEBSITE we offer great MEMBER PROFILES which allow potential clients to find out more about you.
  • Our SEP management team regular attend a number of business NETWORKING GROUPS, in which we of course promote SEP, its services and more importantly its membership
  • As a collective we attend many WEDDING and BUSINESS SHOWS throughout the year. We then promote the members and invite members to attend and help promote both our group and them.
  • Through our SEP on TOUR programme, we offer a number of opportunities for you to socially network your business while in a relaxed and fun atmosphere
  • SEP also runs a number of large-scale EVENTS, which will source all our suppliers from within the SEP collective. We also promote our members to do the same.
  • Coming soon! We are introducing a new SURREY VENUES group which will again encourage engagement of service through our members

Our member's meetings

  • Event Suppliers: will enjoy monthly meetings on the first Tuesday (1800-2130) of each month, members can also come along, subject to availability to any of our SEP on Tour meet ups and CSR socials.
  • Venue Members: will enjoy monthly meetings on the first Tuesday (1800-2130) of each month, members can also come along, subject to availability to any of our SEP on Tour meet ups and CSR socials. On top of this we have an exclusive to venues only meet up and training session bimonthly from 1600-1800, also on the first Tuesday of each month.
  • SEP Partners & Business Members: will enjoy monthly meetings on the first Tuesday (1800-2130) of each month, members can also come along, subject to availability to any of our SEP on Tour meet ups and CSR socials. On top of this we have an exclusive Partners Club, with more details on invitation to join.

Business Support

  • We hold monthly NEW MEMBERS TRAINING, which is a 2-hour programme of tips, advice on membership and the opportunity to network with fellow new joins. It’s also a great opportunity to network with other new members of SEP.
  • Our SEP Business Partners also offer a FREE BUSINESS REVIEW on their sector of business, which includes marketing, brand, finance and legal services
  • At our regular members meetings we offer BUSINESS INSIGHT talks. This 15-minute insight is brought by an expert in their field and covers marketing and business topics
  • As a member you are automatically signed up to Perks for Work a DISCOUNT and REWARD SCHEME. Entitling you to discounts on 1,000’s of BIG-NAME BRANDS and many loyalty schemes discounts
  • We have also negotiated some SEP MEMBER DISCOUNTS on business services, with an ever-expanding list of other services or equipment you may be interested in. Ask us for our latest list of discounts.
  • Our official SEP Business Partners now offer our members FREE INITIAL ADVICE of specialist areas of business and include:

  • Access to SEP WORKSHOPS: A collection of regular training sessions about specialistic topics, including:

  • Access to SEP ACCREDITED TRAINING: Allowing our members to gain professional qualification for them and their staff, which include:
    • BIIAB: Personal Licence Holder, SIA:
      • Door Supervisor / Conflict Management, First Aid: First Response / First Aider at Work, Mental Health First Aider, Safer Food Handling Courses
    • Access to SEP MASTERCLASSES: For the serious business leader, we have teamed with business coaches to
      supply a monthly half day workshop to help your business.

Community & Social

SEP on TOUR: A regular calendar of social networking events, usually once a month, open to all members at an additional charge dependant on the event with ALL profits going to our charity partners, these include tours of Brewery & distillery trips, as well as attendance to some member events

  • SEP on Tour: We will also arrange trips to larger relevant national events / expos, like International Confex, The Event Production Show, The Showman’s Show, National Wedding Show and Imbibe
  • At meetings, you WILL increase your social and business circle through like-minded event professionals.
  • Through our CSR programme we ask a host number of member socials and giving back as the same time:
    • Through our partner charity collective Surrey Charity Network, we have a programme of charity fundraisers, which you can join the SEP Team attending, this could be from a quiz night to fire walks!
    • Fulfilling as much of your businesses CSR requirement as you wish.

Code of Conduct

As part of the SEP membership, all businesses must adhere to our three core terms and conditions of membership, which are:

Professionalism:

Members must show and adhere to professionalism and courtesy at all times with both it’s clients and fellow members. This not only protects you but also our other members and brand.

Giving back:

Our strong CSR ethos requires our members to support local SCN charities where they can, to take part in our social programme of occasionally attending charity events, championing and supporting their good work.

Commitment:

Members must commit to the Surrey Event Professionals brand, our ways of operation and ethos. To regularly attend our meetings, promote our brand and our collective membership.

Membership Fees

Membership costs vary depending on the size of your business.
Membership is also reviewed annually in accordance with the membership requirements.

Event Suppliers:

  • 1-3 full-time staff: £55 per month
  • 4-9 full-time staff: £80 per month
  • 10+ full-time staff: £110 per month
  • All prices are plus VAT at 20%

SEP Partner & Business Partners:

  • Partners from: £400 per month
  • All prices are plus VAT at 20%
  • Application by invitation only

Venue Member:

  • 1-9 full-time staff: £110 per month
  • 10+ full-time staff: £160 per month
  • All prices are plus VAT at 20%
  • 50% OFF advertised rates, if you sign up to our venue partnership programme

Membership details

  • ALL memberships are subject to a £100+vat joining fee
  • ALL memberships are subject to SEP terms and conditions
  • ALL membership fees have a pay monthly option available
  • ALL membership fees include meeting attendance fees and refreshments at the meetings.
    • Event Suppliers memberships includes a monthly meeting
    • Venue Member memberships includes a monthly meeting and bimonthly venue only meeting
    • Partner membership includes access to all event and venue meetings, plus Partner Club
  • ALL memberships fees also include the membership process, administration, initial business reviews, CSR programme, and all proactive marketing previously mentioned
  • Optional extras at discounted prices include training workshops and classes and SEP on Tour
  • You can attend up to TWO meetings before deciding if you wish to become a member.
